Solar Water Heating is a strategy in which warm water is generated by capturing energy from solar particles using that energy to warm the water. Further, the warm water is stored in a solar collector which can be leveraged by the domestic water supply through a variety of passive and active systems. The type of system that you leverage is determined by the environmental factors that your house encounters - primarily ambient air temperature.

Many households will leverage a two-tank system in which the heated water is transferred to a traditional water heater - greatly reducing it’s energy requirement. During periods of cooler weather, the traditional water heater can be used to generate all of the warm water that the home may require.
